Comments Off

A police chase through Hancock County and Indianapolis’ Eastside, ended in a fatal car crash on Saturday that claimed the life of a 23-year-old woman, according to police.

The woman, of Hendricks County, had no prior criminal history and held a valid Indiana driver’s license, said Indianapolis police spokesman Sgt. Paul Thompson.

The chase began just after 2:30 a.m. in Greenfield when Hancock deputies attempted to stop the vehicle on suspicion that the driver was driving while intoxicated, according to WTHR (Channel 13 news).

The vehicle sped west at that point onto I-70, police said. At speeds as high as 100 mph, the chase continued through Indianapolis and ended at College Avenue and 38th Street, when the car struck a tree.
