Alka Seltzer Cold Caps Recalled For Label Error

Comments Off

Bayer Healthcare announced a recall of more than 100,000 packages of Alka-Seltzer cold capsules because they failed to properly display warning about drowsiness.

The affected products were distributed nationwide and have product number 296939L which can be found on both the interior blister package in black text near the expiration date, as well as on the exterior carton near the Bayer logo.

According to the company, the problem was caused by human error during the shipping process. The company is retraining their operators and putting corrective actions in place to ensure this doesn’t happen again, said a company spokeswoman.

Bayer stressed the labeling error is exclusive to this recall and does not involve any other Alka-Seltzer products.

Consumers who purchased the affected products can contact Bayer for a refund at (800) 986-3307. They should stop using the product immediately, Bayer says.
