Baby Swimsuits Recalled By Gap

Comments Off

Gap Inc., in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a voluntary recall of Baby Swimsuits in the U.S. and Canada due to a possible strangulation hazard.

The swimsuits pose a strangulation risk because they have halter straps that were made too short. This causes the plastic ring at the neck of the suit to press against the child’s throat, which could obstruct the airway. Read the CPSC News Release.

The company has received two consumer complaints but no injuries have been reported.

The recalled swimsuits were sold in two styles: number 706260 is blue and white and style number 700452 is red and white. Both swimsuits were sold in infant sizes up to 24 months at the babyGap, GapKids, Gap and Gap Outlet stores nationwide.

Consumers should take the swimsuits away from children and return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
