Infant Deaths Prompt Recall Of Baby Slings

Comments Off

Infantino LLC, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, announced a free replacement program for the Infantino SlingRider and Wendy Bellissimo infant slings.

One million of these baby slings have been recently recalled in the U.S. and Canada due to risk of suffocation in infants younger than four months of age. The agency said it’s aware of three infant deaths in Cincinnati, Philadelphia and Salem, last year.

Consumers are advised to immediately stop using these slings in infants younger than four months. The Infantino Web site has a complete list of model numbers affected by the recall for your reference.

Replacement Program

Consumers should contact Infantino at (866) 860-1361 or visit their Web site at www.infantino.com to receive a free replacement.

CPSC WARNING: Parents and caregivers should not attempt to fix these carriers.
