Slim-Fast Ready-to-Drink Cans Recalled

Comments Off

Unilever U.S., in cooperation with the Food and Drug Administration, is voluntarily recalling all Slim-Fast Read-to-Drink (RTD) cans due to possible bacterial contamination.

The bacteria – Bacillus cereus, is a micro-organism which may cause diarrhea, nausea, and/or vomiting. The affected products were sold in stores nationwide, said the company in a statement.

According to the company, the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote and issued the recall “out of an abundance of caution.”

The list of products includes Slim-Fast Ready-to-Drink 3-2-1- French Vanilla, Rich Chocolate, and Milk Chocolate.

The recall was initiated after the company conducted quality testing on the Slim-Fast RTD products.

Consumers are urged to discard the recalled products and to contact the company for a refund at 800-896-9479.
