The Timberland Co., in cooperation with the CPSC, announced a voluntary recall of 21,000 pairs of Classic Scuffproof Boots because the logo stamped on the children’s boot’s insoles contains excessive levels of lead.

Lead is toxic if ingested and can impair learning in children and has been linked to brain and kidney damage.

To this date, the company has not received any reports of illness associated with the recall.

The recall involves Children’s Timberland 6” Class Scuffproof boots. They are wheat-colored leather and were sold in toddler sizes 4 through junior size 7. Below are the model and manufacturer date code numbers:
