An Amtrak passenger train hit a truck this morning in White County sending one man to the hospital.
The crash happened at a crossing on County Road 200 West of Monon, just north of Indiana 16. The site is a two track railroad crossing with no warning lights or cross arms, police said.
The victim, who was driving a tree trimming service truck, was thrown from the vehicle in the crash. While the extent of injuries is unknown, he was unconscious and breathing after the accident. He was later transported to Methodist Hospital and listed in critical condition.
The train came to a stop more than a mile north of the crash scene. The accident is still under investigation.
