A six-year-old boy was seriously injury Friday night after hitting his head and falling out of a teacup ride at the Xscape Party Center – an indoor amusement park in Indianapolis. He remains in critical condition.
Following the accident, the boy was breathing but unconscious. His father said, his skull was fractured in three places and that he suffered a seizure while on the way to the hospital.
The boy was riding with a young girl and older male of unknown age when the accident occurred, said police. The cause of the accident is unknown while detectives continue to investigate.
Xscape was not available for comment.
Update: After failing inspection on Tuesday, State inspectors shut down Xscape Party Center where the boy was critically injured after falling from a ride on Friday.
Indiana State Fire Marshal Jim Greeson said the rides were operating without a state-required permit, and that the facility did not have a required amusement and entertainment permit.
